Disaster Internet via Amateur Radio
The Bay Area Mesh (BAM) provides wireless data connectivity and services using Amateur Radio frequencies, and devices running AREDN software. It is a federated network built by and for ham radio operators, and it covers the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding regions in northern California.
Thanks to the San Francisco Wireless Emergency Mesh (SFWEM) organization for accelerating the growth of the network in the early 2020's. The community has taken off since then, and shared infrastructure is now being coordinated by the Bay Area Mesh Inc. (BAM). All amateur radio operators are welcome and encouraged to join the network and participate.

This bare-bones website is being put up (April 2025) to replace the previous SFWEM.net website. It will be updated and fleshed out as we are able to transfer and add content.
